Rockville, Ind, March 19 – John Lusk, 75 years old, one of Parke County’s wealthiest citizens and owner of this county’s famous health and camping resort, Turkey Run, died at his home in Sugar Creek Township this morning, after several months of illness, the result of a paralytic stroke suffered last spring. Mr. Lusk was a member of a family that came to Indiana from Vermont, his father, Salmon Lusk, settling at Fort Harrison, Vigo County in 1816, later moving to Vermillion County and then to this county where he built a mill and shipped pork by boat to New Orleans. John Lusk was an eccentric character, never married and was wealthy. Besides owning Turkey Run he possessed several hundred acres of land adjoining the summer resort from which four or five years ago he sold about $25,000 worth of timber. He lived alone in the large house built by his father just north of the Narrows of Sugar Creek. He leaves no near relatives, but has several nieces and nephews in Illinois. Turkey Run is a well known resort to Greencastle people, especially the motorists of the town. Turkey Run is located near the Shades of Death and is a popular resort.- kbz
